In 2011 me and Ewa traveled for over a month in Ghana, country of great and very warm people. Among many pictures I took was this one, taken in a small 'pito' {millet beer} brewery bar in Tamale:
We have also taken many polaroid portraits of Ghanaians
, composed later in the 'face book' album
, self-published in limited edition:
In 2014 I read about crowd-funding action 'Operation: Ghana
', gathering funds to perform 100 hernia surgeries in two weeks, by three doctors from Poland. I offered two last copies of the book as an incentive for fundraising. When I realized that surgeries will take place in Tamale, I have privately asked the organizers to print and deliver the photograph to the pictured girl.
After a couple of months I have received an email with the image below:
The girl wasn't at work on that day, but the owner has promised to hand her the print. I am very happy that 'Operation: Ghana' could succeed not in 100, but 100,1%.
